Fad miracle weight loss diets come and go.  It is estimated that one out of three women and one out of four men are on a diets. Two-thirds of the dieters regain their weight within one year. Weight loss and regained is called the yo-yo effect.  The Paleo Diet is a healthy daily meal plan. The Paleo weight loss diet is the Caveman Diet.  Paleo diet over 10,000 years old and eaten by the Paleolithic People. Paleo Diet was designed by Mother Nature and given to Modern Man.  Not a diet exclusively for weight loss. I would not imagine that Cavemen and Cavewomen had great concerns about weight. The Caveman's daily concern was survival. Survival was based on health.  Health determined by diet and exercise. The Caveman's only means of transportation was by foot. Meaning a daily excercise regiment is important for weight loss and weight maintenance. Caveman's optimal diet all organic, low carbohydrates (sugars & starches), low sodium and low fat foods. Many Paleo friendly foods are unsaturated. Their main diets were: raw meat, fish, poultry, eggs, fresh vegetables and fresh fruits, eatable leaves, herbs and spices. Excluded from diet: wheat, grain, rice, legume, potatoes were not eaten because raw these food contain toxins. These foods in addition to dairy are excluded from Paleo Diet. The Paleo Diet is Gluten, DairySoy and Preservative Free. The body stores sugar, starches and fats. This low fat, sugar and starch diet enables the body to burn and not store carbohydrates & fats in nutritional ways. The low glycemic indexed Paleo foods are benifical for insulin levels and are low carbohydrate foods. Additionally the good fats lowers the bad fats reducing cholesterol and triglyceride (sugar in blood) levels. Healthy way to go for artery and heart health. Reduces blood pressure.  Vegetables and fruits are fibrous, low in sodium and have high concentrations of water. Fiber assist in keeping the indigestion system regular. High concentrations of water increases metabolism and energy levels.

                                              Paleo Diet vs. American Diet

Obesity is an epidemic in America. Heart disease and other chronic diseases have increased. There is a relationship between health and diet. One-third of the American diet calories are from junk foods, sweets, alcoholic beverages and salty snacks.  Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, soft drinks and other junk foods are considered, “empty calories”. “Empty calories”, high in calories but have no nutritional value. These foods have no nutritional value but satisfy your hunger cravings and become an eating way of life. No nutritional diet contributes obesity, diabetes and other chronic illnesses.   “Empty calories” foods have toxins. To increase food production and food appearances antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, processed, artificial coloring and toxins are added in plants and animals. These toxins positively increased food production and appearances but have negative health effects on humans.
