The Paleo Recipe Diet is a culinary way of life. It is an optimal diet for health and well being but some traditional foods are eliminated from the Paleo Diet. Dairy, potatoes, rice, grain, corn, legumes, cooking animal oil fats, trans-fats and preservatives are not allowed. This can present a dilemma for new and seasoned cooks. Not to worry most foods not allowed are replaced with vegetable plants, fruit plants and herbal plants. Most people do not realize that dairy milk can be replaced with almond or coconut milk. Both almond and coconut milk contain calcium.  Dairy butter is replaced with almond butter, coconut butter and or hemp seed butter. Wheat flour can be replaces with almond flour, coconut flour, flax seed meal and plant-based gluten free and grain free  flours.

Until 10 years ago I did not know the difference between a saturated fat, unsaturated fat or trans-fats. I just cooked not realizing that there are good fats and bad fats. Good fats aid in heart health. Bad fats increase cholestrol levels increasing risks of heart diseases.  The Paleo Diet gave me a diet wake up call. Paleo fats contain good fats reducing risks of heart diseases. Paleo oils are plant-based most contain unsaturated fats,  low fats, are animal free and trans-fat free. Check the labels for preservative free oils. Virgin olive oils a friendly Paleo oil has become very popular in recent years. Cooking, frying or baking cook with Paleo Oils.
